The Journey of a Visionary
Jyoti was born in Karnal, Haryana in 1953. Jyoti had an affinity towards the legal field from his initial days.
Fast forward 30 years and Jyoti founded two of India’s leading law firms, K&S Partners & J. Sagar Associates.
K&S PHILOSOPHY
Thirty years ago, I started my solo practice in a hotel room at Qutab Hotel, Delhi in November 1991, with one burning question, “Why does India not have law firms that are professional institutions?” The question fuelled my vision to change the paradigms of law firm ownership and management ever since and in the early 1990s, we established K&S Partners and JSA - two of India’s finest law firms that are the first of their kind; non-family-led and democratically managed law firms. Throughout the years, I have been very fortunate to have the support of several stalwart partners who have championed this vision, helped create our core values & developed the firms’ stature and prominence. As the founder, I am proud of these two firms – who offer a platform for young, talented lawyers the opportunity to harness their skills and grow professionally, without any glass ceiling that limits their ambitions and dreams.
