Latha spoke virtually at the conference organized by UGIVI (Unione Giuristi della Vite e del Vino - Union of Vine and Wine Lawyers) titled, “The Fragile Grapes: Managing Uncertainty Between Law, Markets and New Consumer Habits,” held at CREA Headquarters, Rome on March 21, 2026.
Her session on “New Wine Markets: India” explored the current legal landscape governing the wine trade in India, including regulatory and intellectual property-related challenges. She also discussed limitations under existing laws and provided perspectives on the future of the wine market in India post the India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The conference brought together experts from diverse fields who discussed issues ranging from climate change and wine consumption, packaging of wines, new techniques in viticulture etc.
