IPSTE and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) released a White Paper on Geographical Indications (GIs) authored by Ashish Kanta Singh at the GI Conference held on 18th July 2025 at GNLU, Gandhinagar.

The July release took place during the inaugural session in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Unnat Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (virtually), Dr. Shukla, Director General, Entrepreneurship Development of India, Dr. Shanthakumar, Director, GNLU, and Dr. Nidhi Buch, Associate Professor and Head – IPR & Internship Cell, GNLU.

The paper adds to the evolving dialogue on strengthening the recognition and protection of India’s geographical indications—integral to its cultural heritage and local economies.

*Note: The publlication’s preface was launched in November 2024 during the 7th Edition IP Conclave.
